Here's the output I get on the console when I start the latest version of Konqueror (4:4.0.1-0ubuntu2). This is super strange. The bug is apparently not related to some mimetype issue (you could however try whether it works with a different user). Also, since Konqueror doesn't support prefetching, it can't be related to the linked tar.gz. The webpage works fine in konqueror (as opposed to konqueror-kde4) and Firefox.
