[Bug 1873713] Re: appstreamcli: symbol lookup error: appstreamcli: undefined symbol: AS_APPSTREAM_METADATA_PATHS
Wileam, this appears to be an entirely different problem than the one originally discussed here. Please file a separate bug by running `ubuntu-bug chromium-browser`. Thanks. ** No longer affects: chromium-browser (Ubuntu) ** No longer affects: chromium-browser -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1873713 Title: appstreamcli: symbol lookup error: appstreamcli: undefined symbol: AS_APPSTREAM_METADATA_PATHS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1873713/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1873713] Re: appstreamcli: symbol lookup error: appstreamcli: undefined symbol: AS_APPSTREAM_METADATA_PATHS
For context, it might be due to the fact that starting on Ubuntu 20.04, the Chromium browser is packaged as a snap instead of a Debian package. I'm running Ubuntu 20.04.1 on NVIDIA Jetson Nano Developer Kit. $ uname -a Linux jetson 4.9.140-tegra #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Jul 16 17:04:49 PDT 2019 aarch64 aarch64 aarch64 GNU/Linux $ cat /etc/issue Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS \n \l Here's output from journalctl -xe: -- The unit snap-chromium-1417.mount has entered the 'failed' state with result 'exit-code'. I didn't include a specific package because I didn't know how to find it (I ran apt and got the error I posted, but I wasn not installing one package by myself, instead it was part of the upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04). I finally solved this bug by a series of: apt upgrade apt dist-upgrade ... apt upgrade apt dist-upgrade Each one was failing for a different reason, but doing some progress as each time the list of changes was smaller. Finally they converged and my system got up to date. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1873713 Title: appstreamcli: symbol lookup error: appstreamcli: undefined symbol: AS_APPSTREAM_METADATA_PATHS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1873713/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1873713/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.
