I have done an upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04 beta with update-manager
--dist-upgrade-devel. After the upgrade update-manager told me to send a
bug report.
As I have seen icedtea-java7-bin seems to be disappered in Hardy and I
removed it from the system. Do not know if this brekas something.
At the moment I am upgrading 5 more systems to 8.04 beta and I will see
if this was a problem only on this system. Three systems have just
finished upgrading and no reports about icedtea-java7-bin.

I am sure that /proc was mounted, otherwise the system would have
behaved very strange ;-).

Yes, the icedtea-java7 -- openjdk-6 transition is explained in bug
#203636.

2008-02-13 Thread Daniel Hahler
libjli.so gets shipped by icedtea-java7-bin itself and it appears that it's not
available during the postinst already.
However, I could not reproduce it by purging icedtea-java7-bin (and
sun-java6-bin, which provides this file, too) and then reinstalling
icedtea-java7-bin.
Maybe this is related to ldconfig being called not before the call to java in
the postinst?
