[Bug 1894860] Re: Boot fails with newer kernel

2020-09-15 Thread Paul White
Eugen, normally the kernel bot posts the following text but it hasn't
done so as the bug report has a status of 'Incomplete' and was initially
filed against the installer rather than the kernel:

---
This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem. While
running an Ubuntu kernel (not a mainline or third-party kernel) please enter
the following command in a terminal window:

  apport-collect 1894860

and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'.

If, due to the nature of the issue you have encountered, you are unable to run
this command, please add a comment stating that fact and change the bug status
to 'Confirmed'.
---

Make sure you update the status even if you can't run the 'apport-
collect' command.

[Bug 1894860] Re: Boot fails with newer kernel

2020-09-09 Thread Eugen
it has nothing to do with the installation media - the system was setup
with 1910 and upgraded to 2004 - was running fine ever since, the
problem is with the mentioned kernels: not booting, no real error
message

[Bug 1894860] Re: Boot fails with newer kernel

2020-09-08 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it
seems that there is a problem with your installation media (CD/DVD).
You can verify the integrity of the Ubuntu ISO files you downloaded by
following the instructions at
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM. You might also retry
your installation with new media. In the event that is is not in fact
an error with your installation media please set the bug's status back
to New. Thanks and good luck!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]
