[Bug 1901460] Re: Back off also if IBus on Budgie

2020-11-07 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
I installed the budgie-desktop 10.5.1-6ubuntu0.2 packages from focal-
proposed, and could then successfully verify the test case using im-
config 0.44-1ubuntu1.3 from focal-proposed.

Ah, nice. Then I'll just wait with the verification of the detail in
this bug until that SRU has made it to focal-updates.

2020-10-31 Thread fossfreedom
Hi!

Yes - the support for Ibus non-xkb layouts via the applet is broken in
focal - fixed as you have seen in groovy.

Thus I have backported the patch and SRU'd here
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/budgie-desktop/+bug/1902317

Hopefully the SRU team will be kind enough to review soonish. Thanks.

[Bug 1901460] Re: Back off also if IBus on Budgie

2020-10-30 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
I verified the test case for groovy using im-config 0.45-1ubuntu1.1 from
groovy-proposed.

As regards focal I couldn't reproduce the test case successfully. IBus
input methods are simply not recognized by the Keyboard Layout applet,
also when budgie-desktop 10.5.1-6ubuntu0.1 is present.

@David: Is there more into it to make IBus work smoothly on Budgie
20.04?

[Bug 1901460] Re: Back off also if IBus on Budgie

2020-10-30 Thread Timo Aaltonen
Hello Gunnar, or anyone else affected,

Accepted im-config into groovy-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/im-
config/0.45-1ubuntu1.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
groovy to verification-done-groovy. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-groovy. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.
