[Bug 1928338] Re: package openssh-client 1:8.4p1-5ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: package is in a very bad inconsistent state; you should reinstall it before attempting configuration

2021-05-14 Thread Utkarsh Gupta
Hi jitmanyu,

Thanks for taking the time to report the bug. However, I can't seem to
reproduce this in a Focal container. I tried to install openssh-client
(and openssh-server) as well, tried to play with it for a while, removed
it, re-installed; then purged it, re-installed again, but can't seem to
reproduce the issue that you're quite facing?

I wonder if this is an issue because of some local config issue or
something? If so, you can find assistance here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community.

And I also wonder if simply reinstalling the openssh-client will fix the
problem you're facing? cf: apt reinstall openssh-client or equivalent?

However, if you believe that this is really a bug in Ubuntu, then we
would be grateful if you would provide a more complete description of
the problem with steps to reproduce, explain why you believe this is a
bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then
change the bug status back to "New" again.

Thanks, again!
