Public bug reported: Hello!
After upgrade working Focal aarch64 installation on Lenovo Yoga C630 WOS (Qualcomm Snapdragon 850) I found that GRUB2 builds from Groovy, Hirsute and Impish can not boot Linux kernel - laptop is either soft lockup (Ctrl+Alt+Del works) or hard lockup (Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't work) right after "Loading device tree" message before messages from kernel appear on the screen. Attempts to boot with "nomodeset", "acpi=force", "earlycon=efifb" options doesn't make any difference. On other hand rolling back GRUB2 packages back to 2.04-1ubuntu26 fixes the issue. ** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1939975 Title: GRUB2 builds from Groovy, Hirsute, Impish can not boot kernel on Yoga C630 WOS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1939975/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
