2008-03-25 Thread Eusebio
This is to inform you that in 8.04 the inet is still broken

( Just bootup the CD you can go to www.ibm.com but you can NOT go to
www.hp.com Why? )

I will send you the file /var/adm/syslog this evening, do you need something
else?

Regards,

Eusebio

Status in Source Package network-manager in Ubuntu: Incomplete

 Bug description:
Same computer, same router, same cable, out of the box running systems in
 both cases:

1.- Booting the Live CD Ubuntu 7.04 stablishes working internet connection
 with wired eth:
You can go and do an apt-get install whatever , it connects and get
 the packages and
so on.

2.- Booting the Live CD Ubuntu 7.10 stablishes a partially working
 internet connection:
It allows you to access some web pages like www.ibm.com or some mozilla
 pages, but it
is imposible to access others like www.hp.com or www.ubuntu.com, even
 is not posible
to do an apt-get install whatever , it remains waitng forever.

So something happened in 7.10, it could be networkmanager, but don't know
 for sure.

I would like to be able to connect to internet just out of the box in 7.10,
 as it was in 7.04

2008-03-17 Thread Eusebio
Ok I will download it and try it.

But I have an issue, that you may help me to fix:

In the machine I tested the Live CDs, I was happy with it (7.04 in the HDD)
and did the Upgrade Button issue, and then the Internet stop
working properly. Is there an easy way to fix it in order I do not have to
reinstall to the new version? I am at 7.10 in HDD with not working Inet now.

Regards,

Eusebio

Re: [Bug 194125] Re: networkmanager in ubuntu 7.10 in wired internet connection does not grant full Inet access

2008-03-07 Thread Eusebio
Hello

The case of the ubuntu live CD 7.04 (the one that works just out of the
box)

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ uname -a
Linux ubuntu 2.6.20-15-generic #2 SMP Sun Apr 15 07:36:31 UTC 2007 i686
GNU/Linux

In the other case (7.10) I have to find a usb pen to put the files there
because it does not have a running Internet connection.

I have to say that I had this machine with Ubuntu 7.04 installed on Hard
Disk, alone, not dual boot at all, and I decided to update it to 7.10, and
then the problem arised.

I will also test this two live CDs in a laptop with wired connection.

I will let you know.

Regards,

Eusebio

Thanks for taking the time to post this bug report, can you tell us what
 hardware you are running.

Is the issue the same on a full installation or just the live cd?

Please include the following additional information, if you have not
already done so (pay attention to lspci's additional options), as required
 by the Ubuntu Kernel Team:
 1. Please include the output of the command uname -a in your next
response. It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact
kernel version you're running, as well as the CPU architecture.
 2. Please run the command dmesg dmesg.log after a fresh boot and
attach the resulting file dmesg.log to this bug report.
 3. Please run the command sudo lspci -vvnn lspci-vvnn.log and attach
the resulting file lspci-vvnn.log to this bug report.
