This just bit me today. Was trying to fix citirix workspaces in general, which was working yesterday, but occasionally just stops doing anything when launching from the dash - no errors, nothing, and needs a reinstall to magically fix. Today the reinstall didn't fix it, so I tried reinstalling with the AppProtection turned on with a wild guess that someone at the server end required more security. That was a bad guess. Had to do the live usb and mount filesystem and remove that lib as mentioned above. In the release notes of citrix workspace app: "We recommend not to install Citrix Workspace app with app protection enabled on operating systems that use glibc 2.34 or later." with ldd --version you can check your glibc version. Quick fix is to mount the filesystem in a live environment and delete the file /usr/local/lib/AppProtection/libAppProtection.so.
