It must be one of the dependencies at fault. I have 21.04 still installed, it has the exact same version of x2go-client, 4.1.2.2 and same version of QT, 5.15.2, as does 21.10, yet, the pulldowns work on 21.04 but do not work on 21.10, it is the same /home directory on both as well so all of the user configuration is the same.
