2022-04-08 Thread Roef Mahlmann
Hello Daniel,

I've reinstalled the nvidea driver got some errors and then tried to remove
it. In the end I don't know what exactly happend (perhaps new patches), but
now the system start neatly without any problems.
Thanks for your time. I am glad there are people like you who try to help
others. :-)

Vriendelijke groet,

[Bug 1960605] Re: System freeze

2022-03-05 Thread Roef Mahlmann
After the system had operated for some hours, I stopped the system by using the
menu 'Power Off'.
It stopped neatly. Then after a minute I started the system again, but it
failed. A hard reset (4 sec power-button) was necessary. Then wait 15 sec and
restart the system. The system started without a problem. And here is the
journalctl output.

[Bug 1960605] Re: System freeze

2022-03-03 Thread Daniel van Vugt
The log in comment #7 seems to end frozen without any new messages
indeed. Maybe try waiting 10 seconds between the freeze and rebooting
before collecting another log.

I'm guessing the culprit is the Nvidia driver but we need more
information.

[Bug 1960605] Re: System freeze

2022-03-03 Thread Roef Mahlmann
The problem is still present: First boot is fine, short period of work,
shutdown, move to other location, boot, which fails and then hard reset
and boot 2, 3 or 4 times before the boot is fine.

[Bug 1960605] Re: System freeze

2022-02-18 Thread Roef Mahlmann
This morning the boot was OK. Then I stopped the system, but the next 3
times the boot failed and a hard reset had to be performed before the
boot was OK again.

[Bug 1960605] Re: System freeze

2022-02-16 Thread Roef Mahlmann
In the original post I've added the last lines of the syslog which came
to me with ssh. The last lines did not even make it to the disk. After
the user starts at the welcome screen on Jan 22 10:31:03 the system
halts at Jan 22 10:31:10.

Yesterday (20220215) the system booted without any problem. Today I
tried to reproduce the problem. After five times rebooting without
problems I looked at the /var/log/apt/history.log and found the latest
upgrade:

*two:
/dev/sdb1 is an external usb disk which should not interfere. It could be half
