[Bug 1962276] Re: [jammy] Laptop monitor does not turn off/disconnect when the lid is closed
To clarify, Alex's upower problem is bug 1962351. For the moment this bug of rue's is a kernel bug. ** No longer affects: upower (Ubuntu) ** No longer affects: mutter (Ubuntu) ** No longer affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) ** Summary changed: - [jammy] Laptop monitor does not turn off/disconnect when the lid is closed + [Lenovo ThinkPad X250] Laptop monitor does not turn off/disconnect when the lid is closed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1962276 Title: [Lenovo ThinkPad X250] Laptop monitor does not turn off/disconnect when the lid is closed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1962276/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1962276] Re: [jammy] Laptop monitor does not turn off/disconnect when the lid is closed
This appears to be caused (for me at least) by upower 0.99.16-1 - after upgrading today to 0.99.16-2 things are working again as expected. ** Also affects: upower (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #1006368 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1006368 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1962276 Title: [jammy] Laptop monitor does not turn off/disconnect when the lid is closed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1962276/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1962276] Re: [jammy] Laptop monitor does not turn off/disconnect when the lid is closed
The problem doesn't appear to be universal. I've just installed jammy 2022-02-28 on a laptop, plugged in a monitor and keyboard and closed the lid. But for me everything works correctly - the laptop screen is no longer part of the desktop. ** Tags removed: rls-jj-incoming -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1962276 Title: [jammy] Laptop monitor does not turn off/disconnect when the lid is closed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1962276/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1962276] Re: [jammy] Laptop monitor does not turn off/disconnect when the lid is closed
Hi Daniel, I upgraded to kernel version 5.15.25-051525-generic and I can say things seem to be working. Clam shell mode works. Tested booting the laptop and then plugging in the HDMI and Hub. After closing the lid it immediately switched to using the external monitor as default. Booted the laptop with the HDMI and hub plugged in. The login screen displayed on the External monitor, logged in and external monitor was setup correctly as the default monitor. Tested suspend and that worked as expected. All seems to be working as correctly now Thanks Rue -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1962276 Title: [jammy] Laptop monitor does not turn off/disconnect when the lid is closed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1962276/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1962276] Re: [jammy] Laptop monitor does not turn off/disconnect when the lid is closed
Yes that probably eliminates Mutter from the equation. Sounds more likely to be a kernel regression or something in between like gnome- settings-daemon. ** Also affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1962276 Title: [jammy] Laptop monitor does not turn off/disconnect when the lid is closed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1962276/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1962276] Re: [jammy] Laptop monitor does not turn off/disconnect when the lid is closed
Hi Daniel, not a problem I will try a few kernels out. Just to add I noticed over the weekend, when using the laptop on it own it doesn't suspend anymore when closing the lid. All related I'm guessing.
