Should be fixed in intrepid. Reopen if the same happens on alpha4 (yet
unreleased) or recent daily livecd.

[Bug 196970] Re: keyboard partially fails [Hardy Regression]

2008-05-19 Thread j-b-m
Same problem with a macbook pro. It worked perfectly with previous
Ubuntu version. Now, depending on my keyboard layout, arrow keys don't
work anymore, nor do home, end, Page Up, Page down.

If I keep us layout it works fine, but if I switch to another (ch for
me), those keys don't work anymore. Page Down is interpreted as a right
mouse click... I tried all possible keyboard layout, but no way to fix
it.

My xorg.conf keyboard section:

Section InputDevice
  IdentifierGeneric Keyboard
  OptionCoreKeyboard
  OptionXKbRules xorg
  OptionXkbLayout ch
  OptionXkbVariant mac
  Driverkbd
  OptionXkbModel macintosh
EndSection

[Bug 196970] Re: keyboard partially fails [Hardy Regression]

2008-03-20 Thread MatthijsNL
Strangely, when I removed the USB to PS/2 adapter and connected the
keyboard to USB the problem was solved. So the problem lies either with
the PS/2 port or converter or with the communication with the PS/2
port... The former possibility sound more likely even if still a bit
strange. It would mean that there's no bug, just a hardware malfunction
on my system.

2008-03-20 Thread MatthijsNL
Ok.. I wrote about the removal of the USB to PS/2 converter just 10
minutes ago, but the problem simply came back again. I'm puzzled, how
can the problem be solved by such an action and then just come back
without any obvious reason at all?

2008-03-17 Thread Brian Murray
I am reassigning this to kdebase as there is nothing misconfigured in
your xorg.conf file and believe it must be something with the desktop
environment.
