[Bug 197224] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_file_query_info()

2008-11-09 Thread Xabi Ezpeleta
Milesker Asier!

I solved this bug downloading the language file from Gnome's URL. Maybe
somebody doesn't want to wait. I followed these steps:

1- Download Nautilus' PO file from http://l10n.gnome.org/teams/eu
(Ubuntu Intrepid=Gnome 2.24). I have used this url:
http://l10n.gnome.org/POT/nautilus.gnome-2-24/nautilus.gnome-2-24.eu.po

2- Install internationalization utilities: sudo apt-get install
gettext

3- Convert PO file to MO file: msgfmt -cv -o nautilus.mo
nautilus.gnome-2-24.eu.po

4- Replace current nautilus.mo file:
mv /usr/share/locale-langpack/eu/LC_MESSAGES/nautilus.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/eu/LC_MESSAGES/nautilus.mo.bak
cp nautilus.mo /usr/share/locale-langpack/eu/LC_MESSAGES/nautilus.mo

2008-11-08 Thread Asier Sarasua Garmendia
I talked to the maintainer of the Basque localization of Nautilus, and
he has changed those strings in the GNOME 2.22 and 2.24 translations. Is
there any chance that we could get this into Ubuntu Hardy and Intrepid
as soon as possible?

Regards.

Aupa Asier,

I've tried to update these strings from this url:

But it seems that only Iñaki Larrañaga can changes it...

[Bug 197224] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_file_query_info()

2008-11-08 Thread Asier Sarasua Garmendia
Iñaki Larrañaga is in fact the maintaner of the Basque localization of
GNOME that I mentioned before. He doesn't translate in Launchpad, he
directly maintains the translation in http://l10n.gnome.org/teams/eu.
Afterwards people from Ubuntu take the localization packages and upload
them to Launchpad.

I don't know the relationship between Launchpad and GNOME translations,
don't know if translations made in Launchpad go upstream to GNOME, but I
guess that it's better to make the changes directly in GNOME's L10N
project, not in Launchpad.

[Bug 197224] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_file_query_info()

2008-11-02 Thread Asier Sarasua Garmendia
The bug persists in Intrepid.

I identified the strings that produce the error in the Basque locale's
nautilus.po file. They are these:

#: ../libnautilus-private/nautilus-file-operations.c:2753
msgid Moving %'d file (in \%B\) to \%B\
msgid_plural Moving %'d files (in \%B\) to \%B\
msgstr[0] \%B\(e)ngo fitxategi %'d \%B\(e)ra eramaten
msgstr[1] \%B\(e)ngo %'d fitxategi \%B\(e)ra eramaten

When I change them and keep the english version, the bug dissapears:

#: ../libnautilus-private/nautilus-file-operations.c:2753
msgid Moving %'d file (in \%B\) to \%B\
msgid_plural Moving %'d files (in \%B\) to \%B\
msgstr[0] Moving %'d file (in \%B\) to \%B\
msgstr[1] Moving %'d files (in \%B\) to \%B\

If I change the translation to this, the bug also dissapears:

#: ../libnautilus-private/nautilus-file-operations.c:2753
msgid Moving %'d file (in \%B\) to \%B\
msgid_plural Moving %'d files (in \%B\) to \%B\
msgstr[0] Fitxategi %'d (\%B\(e)n) \%B\(e)ra eramaten
msgstr[1] %'d fitxategi (\%B\(e)n) \%B\(e)ra eramaten

However, those strings have not been translated in Rossetta, so they
come from GNOME's PO file and I have been told that in Debian they don't
give any error. So I think that the main problem could be in some other
place.

I've also solved the problem after comparing 7.10 and 8.04 versions, with two
comments:
- I replaced 5799 entry Etxea for Karpeta nagusia and it works. We use
etxea for home in some rows, and karpeta nagusia for some other, I suppose the
way is to uniformize them.
- It wasn't enough for me to replace nautilus.mo in the direction
/usr/share/locale-langpack/eu/LC_MESSAGES, I replaced all the files I found
(also /usr/local/share/locale/eu/LC_MESSAGES and
/usr/local/share/locale/eu_ES/LC_MESSAGES

[Bug 197224] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_file_query_info()

2008-07-23 Thread Asier Sarasua Garmendia
I managed to solve the problem using a dirty workaround: I just replaced
the defective nautilus.mo file in my /usr/share/locale-
langpack/eu/LC_MESSAGES folder with the old version used in Ubuntu
Gutsy.

In my case (Basque locale), I got the old package here:
http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/language-pack-gnome-eu-base/language-pack-gnome-eu-base_7.10+20080205_all.deb

Then I unzipped it, unzipped data.ta.bz2, got nautilus.mo file and
copied it to /usr/share/locale-langpack/eu/LC_MESSAGES

[Bug 197224] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_file_query_info()

2008-05-21 Thread anaspeople
We (basque people) still have this bug in our Hardy version. Anything
that would solve it? Anyway I could help? But please we have to do
something about it!

2008-05-10 Thread Ofir Klinger
Yes. it also happened to me in the Hebrew translation, but, as my
investigations show, it only happens when the account was first opened
with Hebrew applied (since my primary account doesn't experience such
issues).

2008-04-25 Thread Iñaki Calvo
I've checked out the Basque translation corresponding the fourth of the
links listed by Ricardo Pérez López
(https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/hardy/+source/nautilus/+pots/nautilus/eu/371/+translate)
and I've corrected it (I'm a member of the Basque translator team) as it
was wrong.

I hope that was what had to be done...

2008-04-25 Thread Iñaki Calvo
I use the Basque language packages and I had the same problem. I've you
have a look to the discussion of the bug you'll see that I corrected a
translation on the Basque packages (following the example of what the
Spanish team had done). But I don't know if something else has to be
done to update that on the Basque packages..

2008-04-23 Thread Ricardo Pérez López
I just fixed the broken translations. The following strings was badly
translated:

https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/hardy/+source/nautilus/+pots/nautilus/es/333/+translate
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/hardy/+source/nautilus/+pots/nautilus/es/366/+translate

https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/hardy/+source/nautilus/+pots/nautilus/es/380/+translate

Could these fixes do applied before Hardy release?

2008-03-25 Thread Sebastien Bacher
ok, I figured why only some users are getting the issue, that's due to a
broken spanish translation

#: ../libnautilus-private/nautilus-file-operations.c:2561
msgid Duplicating %'d file (in \%B\)
msgid_plural Duplicating %'d files (in \%B\)
msgstr[0] Duplicando %'d archivo (en «%B») a «%B»
msgstr[1] Duplicando %'d archivos (en «%B») a «%B»

I'm also listing other translation issue I noticed while looking to this
bug

#: ../libnautilus-private/nautilus-file-operations.c:1319
msgid
The folder \%B\ cannot be deleted because you do not have permissions to
read it.

ctrl-c and ctrl-v create a copy in the directory as expected on my

Directory must have files for the bug to trigger,
it's triggered with ctrl+drag also
it happens after the size check (i tried copy paste a big folder and
it didin't letme because there was no enought free space)
I've only tested folders inside /home/username

my filesystem is ext3
