[Bug 197224] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_file_query_info()
Milesker Asier! I solved this bug downloading the language file from Gnome's URL. Maybe somebody doesn't want to wait. I followed these steps: 1- Download Nautilus' PO file from http://l10n.gnome.org/teams/eu (Ubuntu Intrepid=Gnome 2.24). I have used this url: http://l10n.gnome.org/POT/nautilus.gnome-2-24/nautilus.gnome-2-24.eu.po 2- Install internationalization utilities: sudo apt-get install gettext 3- Convert PO file to MO file: msgfmt -cv -o nautilus.mo nautilus.gnome-2-24.eu.po 4- Replace current nautilus.mo file: mv /usr/share/locale-langpack/eu/LC_MESSAGES/nautilus.mo /usr/share/locale-langpack/eu/LC_MESSAGES/nautilus.mo.bak cp nautilus.mo /usr/share/locale-langpack/eu/LC_MESSAGES/nautilus.mo -- nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_file_query_info() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197224 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Aupa Asier, I've tried to update these strings from this url: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepid/+source/nautilus/+pots/nautilus/eu/365/+translate But it seems that only Iñaki Larrañaga can changes it... -- nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_file_query_info() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197224 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 197224] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_file_query_info()
Iñaki Larrañaga is in fact the maintaner of the Basque localization of GNOME that I mentioned before. He doesn't translate in Launchpad, he directly maintains the translation in http://l10n.gnome.org/teams/eu. Afterwards people from Ubuntu take the localization packages and upload them to Launchpad. I don't know the relationship between Launchpad and GNOME translations, don't know if translations made in Launchpad go upstream to GNOME, but I guess that it's better to make the changes directly in GNOME's L10N project, not in Launchpad.
The bug persists in Intrepid. I identified the strings that produce the error in the Basque locale's nautilus.po file. They are these: #: ../libnautilus-private/nautilus-file-operations.c:2753 msgid Moving %'d file (in \%B\) to \%B\ msgid_plural Moving %'d files (in \%B\) to \%B\ msgstr[0] \%B\(e)ngo fitxategi %'d \%B\(e)ra eramaten msgstr[1] \%B\(e)ngo %'d fitxategi \%B\(e)ra eramaten When I change them and keep the english version, the bug dissapears: #: ../libnautilus-private/nautilus-file-operations.c:2753 msgid Moving %'d file (in \%B\) to \%B\ msgid_plural Moving %'d files (in \%B\) to \%B\ msgstr[0] Moving %'d file (in \%B\) to \%B\ msgstr[1] Moving %'d files (in \%B\) to \%B\ If I change the translation to this, the bug also dissapears: #: ../libnautilus-private/nautilus-file-operations.c:2753 msgid Moving %'d file (in \%B\) to \%B\ msgid_plural Moving %'d files (in \%B\) to \%B\ msgstr[0] Fitxategi %'d (\%B\(e)n) \%B\(e)ra eramaten msgstr[1] %'d fitxategi (\%B\(e)n) \%B\(e)ra eramaten However, those strings have not been translated in Rossetta, so they come from GNOME's PO file and I have been told that in Debian they don't give any error. So I think that the main problem could be in some other place. -- nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_file_query_info() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197224 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
