[Bug 199006] Re: Please set wake up from suspend by USB keyboard or mouse as default
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 109446 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109446 great info Roberto,Thanks for the homework you did on /proc/acpi/wakeup,I now can resume from suspend by tabbing the keyboard, verses having to hit the power button. I totally agree that it should be part of the default power management in Gnome... *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 109446 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109446 Roberto/Francis, feel free to see if acpitool solved (part of) your problem: http://freeunix.dyndns.org:8088/site2/acpitool.shtml http://sourceforge.net/projects/acpitool/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/acpitoolgui/ sudo aptitude install acpitool Furthermore, I agree with the requestor(s) that it'd be useful if this feature was available as a switch accessible through GUI e.g. in the GNOME power manager preferences or similar (wherever one can set suspend/hibernate preferences) -- Please set wake up from suspend by USB keyboard or mouse as default https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199006 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 199006] Re: Please set wake up from suspend by USB keyboard or mouse as default
I can confirm that this bug still exists in the current Intrepid beta, kernel 2.6.27-7-generic. By default, neither my usb mouse nor usb keyboard will wake the system from a suspended state. -- Please set wake up from suspend by USB keyboard or mouse as default https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199006 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 199006] Re: Please set wake up from suspend by USB keyboard or mouse as default
The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. There are one of two ways you should be able to test: 1) If you are comfortable installing packages on your own, the linux- image-2.6.27-* package is currently available for you to install and test. --or-- 2) The upcoming Alpha5 for Intrepid Ibex 8.10 will contain this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. Alpha5 is set to be released Thursday Sept 4. Please watch http://www.ubuntu.com/testing for Alpha5 to be announced. You should then be able to test via a LiveCD. Please let us know immediately if this newer 2.6.27 kernel resolves the bug reported here or if the issue remains. More importantly, please open a new bug report for each new bug/regression introduced by the 2.6.27 kernel and tag the bug report with 'linux-2.6.27'. Also, please specifically note if the issue does or does not appear in the 2.6.26 kernel. Thanks again, we really appreicate your help and feedback. ** Tags added: cft-2.6.27 -- Please set wake up from suspend by USB keyboard or mouse as default https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199006 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 199006] Re: Please set wake up from suspend by USB keyboard or mouse as default
Thanks Roberto. Care to comment specifically which kernel version you are using (ie provide the output of cat /proc/version_signature). It's more helpful than just affects current kernel version as the current kernel is constantly changing. [Bug 199006] Re: Please set wake up from suspend by USB keyboard or mouse as default
Hi, I sent this comment by mistake, I was just trying to change the affected package and I didn't know it would be sent among the other comments. Thank you, anyway :) Anyway, the tested kernel is 2.6.24-12.22-generic, from Ubuntu Hardy. But the same happens to 2.6.22-14-generic from Gutsy Gibbon, and I'd guess it also happens to all prior versions.
Thanks for the info. The 'linux' package is actually the correct kernel source package for Hardy. Beginning with the Hardy development release, the kernel source package naming convention changed from linux- source-2.6.xx to just linux. I know there exists a linux-source-2.6.24 package which has caused some confusion to bug reporters, our apologies. Anyways, I'll reassign this to the kernel team.
