[Bug 2058808] Re: iwlwifi disconnect and crash - intel wifi7

2024-04-24 Thread Jacek Kowalski
I have tested wifi7 with latest linux-generic-hwe-22.04 with
6.5.0-28-generic #29~22.04.1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Thu Apr 4
14:39:20 UTC 2 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux.

The problem with iwlwifi(and wifi7) no longer exists - no disconnects,
no crash, no unusual errors messages in dmesg. Thanks.

[Bug 2058808] Re: iwlwifi disconnect and crash - intel wifi7

2024-03-26 Thread AceLan Kao
I feel like this commit may fix the issue which is included in
6.5.0-27.28.

commit edb960c5f95228109dd8fd8056d0d28579daad7d
Author: Avraham Stern
Date: Thu Dec 7 04:50:17 2023 +0200

wifi: iwlwifi: pcie: avoid a NULL pointer dereference

BugLink: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2055199

[ Upstream commit ce038edfce43fb345f8dfdca0f7b17f535896701 ]

It possible that while the rx rb is being handled, the transport has
been stopped and re-started. In this case the tx queue pointer is not
yet initialized, which will lead to a NULL pointer dereference.
Fix it.

[Bug 2058808] Re: iwlwifi disconnect and crash - intel wifi7

2024-03-26 Thread Jacek Kowalski
I also noticed 100% utilization of a single CPU thread (by the kernel) when
this happens.
Probably same issue as
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-signed-hwe-6.5/+bug/2057484 (
kernel worker event freezes during traffic on iwlwifi)
