Confirmed - I thought I am crazy cause nobody else experienced this problem... I have this bug or whatever since the 14.03... I am running Hardy x86 (Beta) with a nVidia 8800GTS (G92) with nvidia-glx-new and compiz turned on! When I try to disable compiz (system - appearence) it did not change anything! Confirmed - I am experiencing precisely the same issue. In my case I can make the shutdown continue by pressing the power button (triggering an ACPI shutdown event).
