[Bug 2061923] Re: my upgrade to noble went up in flames
Looking at the dialog again it says "Do you want to rewrite your 'sources.list' file anyway?" not "Do you want to rewrite every sources file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ file anyway?". So I think it is surprising that this had the effect of running with --allow-third-party. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2061923 Title: my upgrade to noble went up in flames To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/2061923/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This could be because I wanted to use my local mirror of the archive but that's not clear to me. Yeah, if you said "Yes" to the prompt "While scanning your repository information no mirror entry for the upgrade was found...", then it has the effect of running with --allow-third-party. So it is expected that this would keep the kernel PPA enabled.
