[Bug 2066169] Re: Active Screen Edges still working when disabled
Replacing /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/tiling-assist...@ubuntu.com/ with the version from github (https://github.com/Leleat/Tiling- Assistant/releases/tag/v47) allows disabling active screen edges from Settings->Multitasking. Version 47 of tiling assistant on github seems to work as expected in other regards as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2066169 Title: Active Screen Edges still working when disabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-meta/+bug/2066169/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 2066169] Re: Active Screen Edges still working when disabled
Just to add my confirmation of this bug, it doesn't matter what the buttons are set to in the settings (they were turned off on my install), it still offers to align the windows when you drag them towards the edges of the screen. On my multi-monitor setup, this occasionally results in the window being bugged out and stuck to one of the zones if I accidentally drop them and getting them out of that state requires me to press the windows key and drag the window onto a new monitor and then I can select it again. But on an multi-monitor setup it is really, really annoying that you can't turn these snap zones off as every time you drag a window around it offers to snap it to the edges of multiple windows. At the time of writing the importance of this bug is "undecided", which I presume means it's not prioritized for fixing. Yes it's not world- ending, but it's a prime example of an annoying bug that is very frustrating that it appears to slip through the cracks and ends up being ignored.
In my case, the "hot corner" button (in the "multitasking" menu) is actually working OK. It is the "active screen edges" button that has no effect (the feature is always enabled regardless of the status of this button).
