[Bug 214178] Re: USB mounts in a new folder if left plugged in on shutdown
Yeah, I'm not positive because I just had a weird reboot. I'm not really sure it did reboot. Sorry about that. -- USB mounts in a new folder if left plugged in on shutdown https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/214178 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 214178] Re: USB mounts in a new folder if left plugged in on shutdown
I've rebooted a few times (clearing my /media folder each time) but it doesn't appear to have made any difference. Let me know if you see otherwise though!
There might be a fix for this in the latest hal package... I'm not positive, but I think it's been fixed.
Sorry I forgot my way of fixing. My way of 'fixing' this is each reboot I do "gksu nautilus" and delete all entries under /media/ that are unused and only accesible by root. Back in normal user nautilus I unmount the "disk_" and remount it.
Thi has just started happening to me yesturday on Hardy Herron. On each reboot I end up with a "disk_" then "disk__" then "disk___". I think it is something to do with the permissions of the "/media/disk" 'file'? This is really annoying because for example my document library is held on the USB disk and rhythmbox cannot find it if it has moved from /media/disk to /media/disk_ . At first it was moving to disk-1 then disk-2 but changed the options to always mount under 'disk' (hence the disk_ and disk__).
Sorry, I forgot this; I'm running Hardy Heron with all the newest updates (As of earlier today) I think it also happens in Gutsy, but I can't remember for sure. Sorry I didn't know what I needed to do for more info. I don't know what would be relevant. -- USB mounts in a new folder if left plugged in on shutdown https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/214178 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
