I have the same problem. Sometimes, the switcher will not show window titles. For my current user it still has some problems. When there's only one window and I alt+tab the first time it appears normal, but the second time i hit alt+tab it screws things up. See the attached screenshot. Here is another screenshot. This time the box that displays the titles is showing but it's smaller than the list of windows.
