How do I find that out? Or do you mean the KDE4 visual effects? These are not activated, just default KDE4 installation. Yeah, I meant the desktop effects. Dashboard performance seems to be a bit better when they effects are on, in my experience. What hardware are you using? I'm using an nVidia Geforce 4 MX 440 with the latest drivers. Regarding Firefox disappearing: Firefox (and Thunderbird) disappear when you enable desktop effects while they are minimized. You can either enable desktop effects while Firefox isn't minimized or close and open Firefox if it does disappear.
