I had the same issue (libnss-mdns was installed) and installing lib32nss-mdns fixes it. I have uploaded a (very) simple fix to hardy-proposed that adds lib32nss-mdns to the depends on amd64. Interestingly, this error only occurs if the package libnss-mdns is installed. Having neither libnss-mdns nor lib32nss-mdns works; so does having both.
