I too am having the same problem, when I try to save to a network drive mounted via (Connect To Server...). I don't have the same problem when saving to network drives that have been mapped via mounting them in /etc/fstab. OpenOffice (for example) saves documents to such drives no problem. The most annoying thing is that Firefox fails to save the files silently, without any error message.
