[Bug 231519] Re: pixeleted video playback upon fullscreen

2011-04-30 Thread n0_m0r3_pa1n
Hi!
I have the same problem with Ubuntu 11.04 . I start videos with the built in
movie player, with vlc player and now i'm trying with kmplayer and still videos
are with very poor quality. My Ubuntu is 64 bits. My video card is ATI Mobility
Radeon HD 4570 and the videos I'm trying to watch are in flv format. In windows
the quality of the videos is much much better, but in Ubuntu they are really
slow, the graphics is very poor and in squares and it has a very big lag.. I
don't know if that's the correct word :S

Well, I found some comments in the web, so i changed the video into X11
and the video in the Movie Player is playing very good. I think this may
had just fixed the problem... : (happy)

2008-10-30 Thread Bryce Harrington

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the
original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to
reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against
the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we
may be able to pass upstream for help.

[Bug 231519] Re: pixeleted video playback upon fullscreen

2008-10-10 Thread Bryce Harrington
Hi spandanj,

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with
the latest development release of Ubuntu? (ISOs are available from
cdimage.ubuntu.com)

If it remains an issue, could you also attach a new /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
Thanks in advance.

The output of lspci -vvnn would also be worth having.

You need to turn on TexturedVideo for the x1400.

[Bug 231519] Re: pixeleted video playback upon fullscreen

2008-07-28 Thread spandanj
** Description changed:

I have Ubuntu 8.04 installed on a dell inspiron 6400 dual core, with ATI
  mobility radeon x1400.

Compiz works fine. However, video playback of any video when run full
screen is Pixelated in vlc. normal playback in a window at 1X zoom is
fine. If you would like more information about my configuration, please
let me know, and how. all packages used are from ubuntu repos. and ati
driver is from restricted modules. I have xserver-xorg xgl uninstalled.

I expect the playback to be SMOOTH and clear like in windows. Atleast in
gutsy it was not pixelated, though it was choppy with sync problems and
  screen tearing.
+
+ BASICALLY, a better video driver for ati radeon x1400 [ just good
+ enough to make fullscreen playback as smooth as normal unfullscreened -
+ no pixels, no tearing]

[Bug 231519] Re: pixeleted video playback upon fullscreen

2008-05-30 Thread rodrigo lanza herrero
I'm experimenting the same on a fresh install of hardy on my acer aspire
5672 dual core, with ATI mobility radeon x1400. I've tried mplayer and
vlc with default installation and with propietary drivers (from repos),
with compiz and within, video playback is always pixelated. The same
videos on windows looks smooth.

Only with no propietary drivers, no compiz and vlc configured to opengl
output, video shows smooth, but video playback is very slow.
