yes indeed because...

a) octave V3.01 is a only bug-fix release ov V3.0.0 without new
functionality, so it should be definitively better

b) the toolbox-packages of octave are not in the ubuntu-repository, they
have to be downloaded from the octaves project homepage where they are
only available for 3.01

We have 3.0.1 in Intrepid. Do you believe this warrants an update in
Hardy as well?
