[Bug 243155] Re: Fails to find libbase.so and fails to load /lib/libIGGfx.so

2008-08-25 Thread David Sterratt
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 228525 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228525

I've marked this as a duplicate of #228525, as using the 0.5.4 package
from debian (as suggested in that report) fixes this problem for me.

The debian package can be found at:
http://packages.debian.org/lenny/googleearth-package

** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 228525
   googleearth-package 0.5.4 required from Debian

[Bug 243155] Re: Fails to find libbase.so and fails to load /lib/libIGGfx.so

2008-07-09 Thread Jonppe
A reply to the debian bug report
(http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=476665) gave a good hint.
The googleearth-package in ubuntu archives can only install Google earth
version 4.2.
At first, googleearth-package binary looks for the GoogleEarthLinux.bin in the
current folder, if it can't find the file, it downloads the latest one. That
is, you can still download the version 4.2 yourself and use googleearth-package
to install it. I think it's pretty much the same as running the
GoogleEarthLinux.bin in the first place.

When trying to open a link from googleearth in firefox by clicking on it, the
followging occurs:
  /usr/lib/firefox-3.0/firefox: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libxml2.so.2:
undefined symbol: gzopen64
and no page is loaded by firefox.
