Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

In Evolution, memos have a start date by default. However, most memos
are not time sensitive. When at the combined Calendar/Task/Memo view,
one might want to have all the memos there regardless of the day they
were created. This cannot be done at the moment.

A solution is to disable a start date by default, and perhaps have a an
option if one wishes to have an automatic start date.

The behaviour proposed here is already present for the tasks, and as
tasks are often more-time sensitive than memos, it would seem logical to
synchronize the behaviour of the two with no start date. This also
prevents confusion for the user, as at the moment all tasks remain in
calendar view, no matter what day one is on. However memos appear and
disappear depending on whether one is in the calendar range in which
they were created.
