[Bug 266987] Re: ubuntu start low resolution in 50% cases

2008-12-19 Thread Bryce Harrington
Closing as per comment #3.

@ranjan, you're using a completely different video card so must be
seeing some unrelated problem, and should file a new bug if it still
occurs on Jaunty.

[Bug 266987] Re: ubuntu start low resolution in 50% cases

2008-12-18 Thread coolbuddy200187
I have same issue with Kubuntu 8.04
Many times it starts with low resolution 800 * 600 and I think this problem
started after I changed my resolution settings to 800 * 600 from
System Setting Monitor and Display.
and then Back to normal.

[Bug 266987] Re: ubuntu start low resolution in 50% cases

2008-11-07 Thread Bryce Harrington
Hi m-fox2k,

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with
the latest development release of Ubuntu? (ISOs are available from
cdimage.ubuntu.com)

If it remains an issue, could you also attach a new /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
Thanks in advance.

The output of lspci -vvnn would also be worth having.

HI

thank you for reply.
actually i found workaround for this problem.
i have used nvidia x server settings utility and had replaced
/etc/X11/xorg.conf with generated settings and now ubuntu always starts with my
preferred setting instead default.
