Sure ! So far, it's been working fine and it sorted all acpi/apic (etc...) issues allowing for a 'normal' and smooth kind of boot without having to add any extra option. Hello again, just wanted to say that I tried linux- image-2.6.27-3-generic_2.6.27-3.3smb5_amd64.deb from http://people.ubuntu.com/~smb/bug254668/ and it boots appearingly perfectly fine, i.e. without the need of adding noapictimer flag. Well, I'm not a kernel expert (least to say) and all I can report is that both kernel 2.6.27-1 and-2 won't simply let me boot on my acer aspire 9302. Kernel 2.6.26-5 boots fine although I still get the same acpi-related warning. Tried to add noapic and noacpi options but that did nothing. It just halts on displaying the 'ACPI: EC: GPE storm detected, disabling EC GPE' message. Don't know how to report it into more details.
