There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test the current Ubuntu development version (10.10). hmmm I tried installing a 4th time and this time it worked... don't know why there was a difference. However, when it completed the installation, there was no notification. The progress bar dialog simply closed, but the main ubiquity window stayed open and still had the Install button available to be clicked.
