[Bug 269481] Re: evolution glibc crash: double free or corruption (fasttop) : 0x0a325348 ***
Ok, I still had no luck with generating any meaningful crash log, so I opened bug #322685 using my above mentioned findings. -- evolution glibc crash: double free or corruption (fasttop) : 0x0a325348 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269481 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 269481] Re: evolution glibc crash: double free or corruption (fasttop) : 0x0a325348 ***
Ok, I'll need some further directions on that. I enabled apport according to the article at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Apport (enabled=1 in /etc/default/apport, rebooted system) but it did not budge when evolution crashed. Also, I tried to get evolution to crash while being monitored by valgrind (according to the tutorial at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind) but had no luck so far. It crashed immediately at least once without valgrind, though. I can't have it run with valgrind all day because it's dead slow... Are there other ways to report the bug? -- evolution glibc crash: double free or corruption (fasttop) : 0x0a325348 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269481 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Can confirm ilpssun's behavior. Get exactly the same behavior and also the same printout. Running Version: 2.24.3-0ubuntu1 from the proposed repos. I just updated to evolution 2.24.3 (as proposed by the software update tool) and the same error occured at first and second launch. (Third launch went ok, though.) This (or a very similar) bug still happens to me. Quite often when I switch to the calendar view (using the Exchange connector) evolution just crashes or displays Task unexpectedly aborted as well as Calendar unexpectedly aborted. The next few launches of evolution then usually lead to immediate crashes. It is, however, not reproducible because evolution will resume normal operations after 2-4 crashes. See the the console output below. I am using evolution 2.24.2-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 8.10. libc6 is installed in version 2.8~20080505-0ubuntu7 *** glibc detected *** evolution: double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x09f48ff8 *** === Backtrace: = /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6[0xb69023f4] /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6(cfree+0x96)[0xb6904456] /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0(g_free+0x36)[0xb6a33c06] /usr/lib/evolution/2.24/components/libevolution-calendar.so[0xb5e9285c] /usr/lib/evolution/2.24/components/libevolution-calendar.so[0xb5e92e69] /usr/lib/evolution/2.24/components/libevolution-calendar.so[0xb5e90f50] /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0[0xb6a576c6] /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0[0xb6a5602f] /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libpthread.so.0[0xb790a50f] /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6(clone+0x5e)[0xb69747ee] === Memory map: 08048000-08063000 r-xp 08:02 812483 /usr/bin/evolution 08063000-08064000 r--p 0001b000 08:02 812483 /usr/bin/evolution 08064000-08066000 rw-p 0001c000 08:02 812483 /usr/bin/evolution 099b1000-09f85000 rw-p 099b1000 00:00 0 [heap] b1bf6000-b1c03000 r-xp 08:02 172166 /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 b1c03000-b1c04000 r--p c000 08:02 172166 /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 b1c04000-b1c05000 rw-p d000 08:02 172166 /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 b1c1b000-b1c7b000 rw-s 00:09 786447 /SYSV (deleted) b1c7b000-b1c8a000 r-xp 08:02 172662 /lib/libbz2.so.1.0.4 b1c8a000-b1c8b000 r--p f000 08:02 172662 /lib/libbz2.so.1.0.4 b1c8b000-b1c8c000 rw-p 0001 08:02 172662 /lib/libbz2.so.1.0.4 b1c93000-b1ca2000 r--p 08:02 951651 /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-bitstream-vera/VeraBd.ttf b1ca2000-b1cd3000 r-xp 08:02 814456 /usr/lib/libcroco-0.6.so.3.0.1 b1cd3000-b1cd6000 rw-p 0003 08:02 814456 /usr/lib/libcroco-0.6.so.3.0.1 b1cd6000-b1d06000 r-xp 08:02 812360 /usr/lib/libgsf-1.so.114.0.8 b1d06000-b1d08000 r--p 0002f000 08:02 812360 /usr/lib/libgsf-1.so.114.0.8 b1d08000-b1d09000 rw-p 00031000 08:02 812360 /usr/lib/libgsf-1.so.114.0.8 b1d09000-b1d0a000 rw-p b1d09000 00:00 0 b1d0a000-b1d3b000 r-xp 08:02 811160 /usr/lib/librsvg-2.so.2.22.3 b1d3b000-b1d3c000 r--p 0003 08:02 811160 /usr/lib/librsvg-2.so.2.22.3 b1d3c000-b1d3d000 rw-p 00031000 08:02 811160 /usr/lib/librsvg-2.so.2.22.3 b1d3d000-b1d3e000 r-xp 08:02 844123 /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/loaders/svg_loader.so b1d3e000-b1d3f000 r--p 08:02 844123 /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/loaders/svg_loader.so b1d3f000-b1d4 rw-p 1000 08:02 844123 /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/loaders/svg_loader.so b1d4-b1d41000 ---p b1d4 00:00 0 b1d41000-b2541000 rw-p b1d41000 00:00 0 b2541000-b2542000 ---p b2541000 00:00 0 b2542000-b2d42000 rw-p b2542000 00:00 0 b2d42000-b2d43000 ---p b2d42000 00:00 0 b2d43000-b3543000 rw-p b2d43000 00:00 0 b3543000-b3544000 ---p b3543000 00:00 0 b3544000-b3584000 rw-p b3544000 00:00 0 b3584000-b35e4000 rw-s 00:09 753677 /SYSV (deleted) b35e4000-b35f5000 r--p 08:02 951649 /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-bitstream-vera/Vera.ttf b35f5000-b35f7000 r-xp 08:02 851978 /usr/lib/pango/1.6.0/modules/pango-basic-fc.so b35f7000-b35f8000 r--p 1000 08:02 851978 /usr/lib/pango/1.6.0/modules/pango-basic-fc.so b35f8000-b35f9000 rw-p 2000 08:02 851978 /usr/lib/pango/1.6.0/modules/pango-basic-fc.so b35f9000-b3602000 r--s 08:02 437260 /var/cache/fontconfig/d315876946f151c86c1c25205969114b-x86.cache-2 b3602000-b3604000 r--s 08:02 437256 /var/cache/fontconfig/eecefdac0a15a51ce9b03a65345efff4-x86.cache-2 b3604000-b3606000 r--s 08:02 437253 /var/cache/fontconfig/032f2ab2b91b7ff5bcb58c2f7774f32e-x86.cache-2 b3606000-b360b000 r--s 08:02 437252 /var/cache/fontconfig/e6170b204ffd91eac453ce88c2d50898-x86.cache-2 b360b000-b360f000 r--s 08:02 437251 /var/cache/fontconfig/4a8840633d9909ca9f77d1925651c0a4-x86.cache-2 b360f000-b361a000 r--s 08:02 437249 /var/cache/fontconfig/fb34aa35a809e3f23054a241c0442c4d-x86.cache-2 b361a000-b362b000 r--s 08:02 437247 /var/cache/fontconfig/b2c249dfa7ba9c9bb7ac60efd035b2c4-x86.cache-2 b362b000-b3631000 r--s 08:02 437245 /var/cache/fontconfig/bd8fa5516f9144835d9dd96109984fd6-x86.cache-2 b3631000-b3635000 r--s 08:02 437212 /var/cache/fontconfig/d9965b5db19ab7ad16f0276a498b28ce-x86.cache-2 b3635000-b363f000 r--s 08:02 437210
