[Bug 273467] Re: Network manager cannot autoconnect to a hidden network
Same problem on Intrepid (kernel: 2.6.27-7-generic ) with ndiswrapper and WPA encryption [Broadcom 4306 rev02 card]. Network-manager connects well with visible SSID's but not with hidden SSID. Looks like a kernel bug similar to PS3. https://launchpad.net/bugs/289982 -- Network manager cannot autoconnect to a hidden network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/273467 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 273467] Re: Network manager cannot autoconnect to a hidden network
** Description changed: Binary package hint: network-manager - Network manager will no longer auto connect to my hidden network on sign - in even with all security turned off. I'm having an educated guess that - this is because the network is hidden as if I choose my neighbor's - visible WEP protected wireless, it asks for the WEP key after I sign in. - Pre-Intrepid, I used to turn off roaming and use a manual connection to - auto-connect but I can't find any way to do this in Intrepid. My network - works fine once I connect through Connect to other wireless network - and it seems to remember the SSID as it shows in the list, just it wont - connect without me telling it to? + In Intrepid, Network manager will no longer auto connect to my hidden + network on sign in even with all security turned off. One solution could be to perhaps have working back-up GUI tool like the System-Administration-Network manual network setup from previous releases that you can use if the latest Network Manager can't do what you need? -- Network manager cannot autoconnect to a hidden network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/273467 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
