Its now june 2013. I am using Precise, Linux MInt and have a problem when encoding a DVD to a PC low quality videofile. I have tested this on two different Intel computers with 64bits Mint versions. Both the same result, also with different DVD's. At this end it tries to merge files and then the error appears: Unknown error while merging. We can't investigate more without the log files. Also, there is now a 0.13 version of ogmrip and a gpac 0.4.5 version (available on Karmic or on Jaunty using my PPA https://launchpad.net/~gilir/+archive/updates). Please test with them to see if the bug is fixed. Latest update yields same result. Merging is okay, but reports an error anyway. Encoding using x264 still doesn't work. Ok I've finally fixed the other system issues. SO... I have bad news and good news. The bad news is I still get Unknown error while merging The good news is it works anyway :p (at least when used with (A)SP). It shows up the error message but in spite of it, a perfectly playable mp4 file is created. Although for some reason now I'm getting an error extracting video stream when using X.264. Alas, it still throws up the same error (terminal output enclosed). Although now the progress bar for merging actually moves (whereas it didn't before) before it shows the error. Also new is that the log now includes Converting to ISMA Audio-Video MP4 file... at the end but still no note of the error. I experienced this problem also, when attempting to encode a movie using H.264 in an mp4 container (if I recall correctly). It should be reproducible with this configuration. It appears to be a buffer overrun bug in MP4Box, which is picked up by apparmor I think. It might not cause a crash when not running arrarmor. I tried the latest MP4Box but the problem persists. I too get this issue. It only seems to happen with H.264 with MP4 container.
