There seems to be a workaround for this bug. Simply start elisa or myth as a superuser (sudo or gksudo) and the fullscreen corruptions are gone. -fglrx does not yet support Compiz + OpenGL (e.g. see bug 179042). We'll focus this bug only on elisa + fglrx with no Compiz loaded (as per comment #10). It has to be a problem in ATI graficcard and OpenGL rendering. I have the same distorted grafic in mythtv menu when i use OpenGL as theme painter. I have this bug too, but it is a little bit confusing. The screen is only in fullscreen that mess of colors. With open source ATI the graphics are as they should be (but painfully slow though, elisa is really unusable that way). Sounds like hardware 3D acceleration is not working with the open-source driver, and software rendering is used.
