Hi seagull,

Care to attach your full dmesg output now that you've installed the
linux-backports-modules package. Thanks.

2008-10-22 Thread Leann Ogasawara
Hi seagull,

I'd also be interested if you happen to run into bug 276990 . Some of
the reporters needed the same workaround you mentioned here to prevent
kernel panics when using iwlagn and connecting to an 802.11n network.
Some of the reporters there mentioning that installing linux-backports-
modules helped resolve the issue, but it hasn't solved everyone's issue.
I'd just be interested if linux-backports-modules helps you as well with
this issue. Please let us know. Thanks.

[Bug 286800] Re: system doesn't optain IP in 802.11n mode with iwlagn

2008-10-22 Thread seagull
Hi Leann, no I had a look at that bug. I never experienced a kernel
panic. I suspect that could be because it didn't get an IP, it never
had the chance to get volume through it.

BTW, I realise I omitted some information on the hardware and dmesg.
I'll put it here now:

Just tried it now ...

sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-intrepid

rebooted

still same issue. Timeout 45s.

Firmware Code being loaded:
Oct 23 09:51:57 cor-blimey kernel: [ 193.601251] firmware: requesting iwlwifi-4
965-2-lbm.ucode

I assume I'm using the new driver. the first few lines of modinfo
iwlagn reveal:
