Ciao Bryce, thanks for your support. I have reinstall ati driver, new version 8.12 released 10 december 2008. After reboot kernel 2.6.27.10 is perfectly working. I'm closing this bug. Please try completely uninstalling fglrx and related packages and do a fresh reinstall.
