Thanks for reporting this and for your cooperation. Since this has been
reported on https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-server/+bug/36812 , the
issue is being worked at
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=865 . It appears to be

[Bug 303434] Re: alt shift tab stopped navigating windows

2008-12-23 Thread RomanIvanov
Yes, after switching changing layout to CapsLock, required functionality
works fine. But it is only workaround.

Points:
1) It really pity that this feature does not work out of the box.
2) In the same bug for Ubuntu, there was the same problem/conflict - but it was
resolved and not at expense of usability(additional adjustments are not
required).
3) Change shortcut to change layout is not a trivial issue in Xubuntu 8.10. (
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1012669 ).

Feel free to close the bug if you think that 1-2 points devoid of sense.

[Bug 303434] Re: alt shift tab stopped navigating windows

2008-12-23 Thread Charlie Kravetz
Thank you. Now I understand. You can not have two functions defined for
the same keypress. It will not be helpful to file this on xfce4.org,
because if Alt+Shift is defined to switch layouts, it wil not work to
switch windows. You need to redifine the keypress for one of these
functions to get them both to work.

[Bug 303434] Re: alt shift tab stopped navigating windows

2008-12-17 Thread RomanI
This feature(switching back windows) works perfectly in Ubuntu 8.10 but
DOES NOT work in Xubuntu 8.10. Pay attention that I (as many ubuntu
users) have 2 keyboard layouts(languages) switched by + (by
default).

May be it is necessary to open but on xfce4.org ?

[Bug 303434] Re: alt shift tab stopped navigating windows

2008-12-15 Thread RomanI
It is pity that this feature does not work "out of the box".

I installed this editor and there I have the same key sequence - no
changes - Please look at attached image. Any more ideas?

I change my keyboard layout by pressing + - this could block
switching_windows_back. try to install one more language in you default
Xubuntu 8.10. (sorry for not pointing this issue before).

[Bug 303434] Re: alt shift tab stopped navigating windows

2008-12-14 Thread Charlie Kravetz
I can not reproduce this in a new installation of Intrepid 8.10.
Did you try the workaround in Bug 150702? (Setting
/apps/metacity/global_keybindings/switch_windows_backward to "Tab"
(in gconf-editor))

You can start gconf-editor in Xubuntu by opening a terminal and running:
gconf-editor . If it is not installed, you may need to install it using:
sudo apt-get install gconf-editor

[Bug 303434] Re: alt shift tab stopped navigating windows

2008-12-14 Thread RomanI
- My system is Xubuntu 8.10, and this feature does not work for both
laptop and desktop.

- I do not have package compiz (I checked it by "dpkg -l"). I did not
install it also.

- Case:
1. I run tree applications
2. Press Alt+Tab - go to the previous active window
3. Press Alt+Tab(switch menu appear) +Tab(cursor in switch menu shift to the
right) +Shift+Tab (cursor in switch menu shift to the right!!! but need to the
left).

Feel free to contact me, I am eager to provide you more information and
whatever is necessary. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 303434] Re: alt shift tab stopped navigating windows

2008-12-13 Thread Charlie Kravetz
Xubuntu uses the same repositories for compiz as Ubuntu; could you
supply a little more information, please. According to the referenced
bug, the issue should be fixed.

Is this a new installation? Do you have this issue if compiz is
disabled? Could you describe the bug you are seeing?
