Public bug reported: Binary package hint: resolvconf
/etc/resolv.conf is missing in fresh desktop install. Due to it automatic DNS configuration via GUI Network Managers (both KDE and Gnome) silently fails. sudo touch /etc/resolf.conf fixes problem. But I think that a blank /etc/resolv.conf should exist exactly after installation. P.S. Same problem was noticed in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/resolvconf/+bug/177767 ** Affects: resolvconf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: dhcp dns -- /etc/resolv.conf is missing in fresh desktop install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/311256 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
