Bug fixed by new version: mplayer (2:1.0~rc2-0ubuntu18) jaunty; urgency=low * The following upstream FFmpeg revisions has been merged in to cope with X264 API changes: 15029, 15337, 15523 (LP: #325720) * Remove arts from dependencies. I can confirm this bug. Kubuntu 9.04 upgraded from Kubuntu 8.10 In my case I have libx264-59 installed but without a valid repo.
