[Bug 329150] Re: [Feature Request] Add GUI option to enable ctrl-alt-backspace

2009-02-25 Thread C.Kontros
This is not the place to rant. This bug is about giving users the
ability through a GUI to re-enable ctrl-alt-backspace in Ubuntu Studio.
This is something that is turned off Ubuntu-wide by default.

Googling will give you more info that I can as to why this was done.
Here is not the place to sound off about it.

We're trying to give Studio users an option.

[Bug 329150] Re: [Feature Request] Add GUI option to enable ctrl-alt-backspace

2009-02-24 Thread MichaelEvans
This is a major problem.

Ctrl+Alt+Backspace is a STANDARD DEFAULT key sequence.

This is deliberately breaking a feature that long time users, support
staff, and others expect to be there and work.

Deviating from established conventions such as this should require at
least two things.

1) A way to re-enable the standard behavior.
2) -DOCUMENTATION- in a central list that contains all ways in which expected
normal behavior is broken.

[Bug 329150] Re: [Feature Request] Add GUI option to enable ctrl-alt-backspace

2009-02-13 Thread Andrew Hunter
What was the method used for disabling it? was it a gconf key or a
option that needs to be added to xorg.conf?

In any case, this should be simple feature request.

They used the dontzap package and then have a settings patch. tseliot
had done a Gnome patch too, but it got rejected, so we might want to
talk with him.
