[Bug 340140] Re: No window decorations on login

2009-03-09 Thread Alex Ruddick
It would appear that metacity is not launched, either. When I open an
application, I can't move it with Alt + drag, nor close it with Alt+F4.

** Summary changed:

- No window decorations on login
+ No window manager on login

** Description changed:

- This is a regression; everything worked fine until the last few days, with
gtk-window-decorator as default although I have compiz installed.

+ When I login to GNOME, there are no window decorations drawn. ATo get them
back, one of two things works:
  (1) System Prefs Appearance Visual Effects. Setting them to Extra
launches Compiz as expected. This setting does not appear to persist, though.
- (2) Running compiz in a terminal. I can switch back to gwd by running
gtk-window-decorator --replace, but running gwd first without compiz does not
work.
+ (2) Running compiz or metacity in a terminal.

- I've reported this bug in GSD because there is no package for gwd?
+
+ EDITED: I got mixed up with WM and window decorator. gtk-window-decorator -
metacity.
