Please note also that this conflict appears on the initial installation of ubuntu (in my case, using the alternate install CD on a ps3). To answer to your questions. 1) I used sudo aptitude update and then sudo aptitude safe-upgrade. Brasero and libbrasero were not upgraded. 2) I expected an upgrade. 3) I encountered a conflict with nautilus-cd-burner. I see the same problem. Unlike the previous version (2.25.92-0ubuntu1), libbrasero-media0 version 2.26.0-0ubuntu1 Conflicts with nautilus-cd- burner. The trigger is that gnome-desktop-environment (1:2.22.2~4ubuntu5) Depends on both nautilus-cd-burner and sound-juicer (which in turn Depends on libbrasero-media0). This means that gnome-desktop- environment cannot be consistently installed with the newer libbrasero- media0 package. I am going to confirm this report and change the package to meta-gnome2, which includes gnome-desktop-environment. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, this does not appear to be a bug. If you are using a tool such as dpkg to install a package, and this package explicitly conflicts with another, it is expected that you get an error. The general tools (synaptic, aptitude, apt-get, etc.) will resolve these conflicts automatically. Can you answer the following questions ? 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
