Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

I had intrepid-backports repository in my sources.list

running update-manager -d while jaunty in beta.

When retrieving packages lists from repositories, update-manager
couldn't find jaunty-backports (supposedly because it isn't active yet),
and that prevented update-manager from going on.

I think those repositories should be disabled during update, at least
before release date.

My sources.list:

deb http://it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid main multiverse restricted
universe
deb http://it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid-proposed main multiverse
restricted universe
deb http://it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid-backports main multiverse
restricted universe
deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid-security main multiverse
restricted universe
deb http://it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid-updates main multiverse
restricted universe

** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
