Since his post, a 1.0.20 point release of ALSA has occurred so use alsa- driver-1.0.20.tar.bz2 instead of alsa-driver-1.0.19.tar.bz2 and so forth. A general review of UNR for HP1030NR users: everything works really great. The webcam is a little dark and requires bright light. The netbook came with Windows XP which I found to run pretty slow. UNR runs better but there is still lag sometimes when opening apps or even right click menus. However overall I think it is a decent machine for the money. I returned my first one because it had a screen defect.
