I confirm this.
Also the same happens with PTP camera, and therefore I think that this happens
for all 'emulated' mounts.

[Bug 368627] Re: double mount of audio cds

2010-03-16 Thread atarax
I assume everyone who inserts an audio CD will observe this behaviour.
So forget about the Platten einbinden stuff (I have no idea what that
is, and I'm a German native speaker). I experience this behaviour with
any audio CD. Even though I think this to be a minor issue, it truly is
confusing. If there is any good reason for it, it should at least be
made obvious, since in my case the .wav files of the CD are being
displayed on the right panel of the UI no matter which device icon on
the left side I click on.

[Bug 368627] Re: double mount of audio cds

2009-10-03 Thread LAZA
A additional tip about the both applets that show up seen at
'Bildschirmfoto-1.png:

After clicking on the icons the following options (icon an text)
appears:

LEFT: (play symbol) CD play
  (eject symbol) Audio-CD eject

RIGHT: (folder symbol) Audio-CD open
( ) Audio-CD eject

So it seems to me that there are two independent applets who came up and
NOT a bug?

[Bug 368627] Re: double mount of audio cds

2009-10-03 Thread LAZA
After clicking on 'eject' on the RIGHT icon it disappears BUT nothing
happens.

The LEFT icon now says 'not mounted' and after again clicking 'eject'
the CD comes out!

BTW: I installed the system fresh three days ago so the bug is definitly
reproducable!
Could that be a problem of installing 'Thunar' together with 'Nautilus'?

that seems the normal behaviour for a multimedia CD, why do you think

But nautilus askes if I will play the multimedia tracks or the audio

This leaves then the double mount of audio cds in nautilus and the

There are 2 (two) icons on the applet but only 1 (one) normal audio cd in the

If it's still not clear look at Bildschirmfoto-1:

There is a one normal audio CD mounted and there are two icons in nautilus as

You can't say that's normal?

No, Nautilus makes the same nonsense like the applet...

It shows two CDs, one with the data and one with the audio files (with
multimedia CD).

With an 'normal' audio CD is only one drive mounted.

[Bug 368627] Re: double mount of audio cds

2009-05-07 Thread LAZA
So, today I report what happens when I insert a multimedia CD into my DVD drive:
As you can see on 'Bildschirmfoto5' the applet to mount and umount block
partitions shows me three (3!) drives (one icon CD in drive, two icons with
CDson it), in nautilus are there two (2) mounted CDs, one entitled simply
'AUDIO-CD', the other with the correct name 'JBO'.
Rhythmbox starts also correct...

again the Terminal output:

[Bug 368627] Re: double mount of audio cds

2009-05-06 Thread LAZA
More strange things:
After mounting a audio CD I have two symbols for the cd.
Today I wanted to eject the CD, click on the right hand symbol (icon for CD)
and... - nothing happenend!
Second click on the left symbol (CD + drive) to eject the CD but a popup-window
said 'not mounted'
Now I'm playing the CD without mounted the CD... ;-)

In nautilus comes an error code (if I click on the drive, mounted with Audio-CD
an the correct symbol):
DBus error
org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name :1.116
was not provided by any .service files

Sorry, haven't found a multimedia CD yet...

[Bug 368627] Re: double mount of audio cds

2009-04-29 Thread LAZA
Okay. I will try it...
As you can see on the photo are beneath the Ubuntu-circle for the Gnome start
menu three more icons:
left for the trash can and right two for one(!) audio CD.
This is the applet for 'Platten einbinden' (Applet zum Einbinden und Aushängen
von Blockpartitionen).
In english: applet to mount and umount block partitions (CD-ROM, USB, ...)
It has an disk as icon on the screen (look at the attachment)

Yes, the bug appears on every 'normal' Audio CD with no multimedia or other
specials on it, not reproducable with other CDs or DVD (on the photo is an
video DVD mounted, only one icon!)
For the moment I got no multimedia CD so I look for one to try it out.

* Is this reproducible?

Yes!

But only with Audio CD on the applet 'Platten einbinden' (you know what
I mean???) and the both symbols in the nautilus I'm going to describe
now:

First: the first icon looks like 'CD in drive' and the info (when I move the
mouse over it) 'nicht eingebunden' (not mounted)
Second: the second icon looks like a CD and the info (on both icons!)
'eingebunden' (mounted)

* If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?

insert a Audio CD into DVD drive!

* Could you run gvfs-mount -li and add the log to the bug?
