[Bug 374922] Re: kernel crashes every now and then on bootup with a stack-trace on HP Mini 2140
Hi t0bias, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid. If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 374922 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. [This is an automated message. I think this problem has been resolved with Ubuntu Karmic... [Bug 374922] Re: kernel crashes every now and then on bootup with a stack-trace on HP Mini 2140
I added one parameter in grub boot parameter. Parameter is nosmp. I can plugged DC power when I booting the HP mini 2140. Disable Dual Core options in 2140 of BIOS is one choice. -- kernel crashes every now and then on bootup with a stack-trace on HP Mini 2140 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/374922 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 374922] Re: kernel crashes every now and then on bootup with a stack-trace on HP Mini 2140
Can you duplicate this with the AC power not plugged into the laptop? Or by disabling dual-core support in the BIOS? If so, this is probably a duplicate of http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/acpi/+bug/359441 -- kernel crashes every now and then on bootup with a stack-trace on HP Mini 2140 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/374922 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

That is, does disabling dual-core fix the problem. [Bug 374922] Re: kernel crashes every now and then on bootup with a stack-trace on HP Mini 2140
In my case, disabling dual-core support in the BIOS fixes the problem, but it does occur sometimes regardless of whether AC power is plugged into the laptop. -- kernel crashes every now and then on bootup with a stack-trace on HP Mini 2140 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/374922 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
