We are lacking a bit of information here. Did it become slow after you did something or was firefox always that slow? Maybe you've just installed it? Witch plugin are you using? At least you have a session manager installed, as I saw? Witch one? Please try providing more information so we can maybe have a better idea of what is happening. For sure, it's not normal that just running firefox gives you 50% of cpu utilization. Web browser do consume lot RAM but do not overload a CPU like that.
