I've posted a new version of the -nvidia driver to our xorg-edgers PPA, would you mind testing it either on Jaunty or Karmic and see if it resolves this bug? I have similar problems (permanent) with calc (3.1.0 5ubuntu1) which does not display to rigth sheet until I save the whole document. Do you still have this problem if you do not use the 'nvidia' video driver?
