This only happens on certain dvds for me... Check to see if your ~\user\.kde folder has the ownership set to root. If it's owner is set to root then change the ownership to user. Bit more information. Since k9copy works on unprotected DVDs, technically doesn't depend on libdvdcss. Running Ubuntu Karmic Koala x86 and ran into crash issue. Did not have libdvdcss2 installed. Adding medibuntu repositories and installing libdvdcss2 solved the issue. Solutions: * make libdvdcss a dependency of k9copy ** Con: libdvdcss not available in the Ubuntu repositories * contact k9copy developers and have them write a check for libdvdcss into the program so that k9copy complains about the lack of the library, but doesn't segfault. Just got it to work by installing every DVD backup program I could find (DeVeDe, dvdRip, Dvd95) and then reinstalling libdvdcss with these instructions: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats/PlayingDVDs.
